Your Blog page needs to be firing from the beginning. Not only is it important to keep active as a writer and share more insights and information, but it is also essential for SEO. Blogging means new content on your website which Google and other search engines will index and increase your rankings because of it. It is a good idea to get four blogs under way ASAP so you have content ready to go once this first stage is completed. As mentioned above, utilise the core keywords within the blog (name, book title, topic) but also incorporate a new strategy with the blogs for SEO effectiveness.
i. On Google, enter the keyword(s) for your genre (e.g. creative expression). Do not hit enter as Google will predict a few options in an automated drop down menu. These are the most commonly searched phrases connected to your keyword(s).
ii. Pick a phrase and make that the title of your blog. Each blog is 750—1500 words.
iii. Use the phrase in the first and last paragraph. If the blog is closer to 750 words, twice again in the main body text and if it is closer to 1500 words, you can get away with four more.
iv. Choose one image to go with the blog. Use free websites like https://unsplash.com/, https://pixabay.com/, https://www.canva.com/photos/free/ to find images available to use. The keyword phrase should be added to the Alt Tag (telling Google what it is) and included in the blog post
